With regards to behavior:
·Students should respect their brothers by interacting in an appropriate manner, themselves by allocating enough time to their ‘Alimiyyah studies and the environment by keeping the Masjid clean.
·Behavior not in-line with the adab of a Talibul-‘ilm may result in disciplinary action
With regards to fees:
·Fees are $2100 annually which is divided into monthly payments of $175 through pre-approved payments (PAP).
·Financial assistance is readily available for any student. Those in need can reach out
[email protected]
·We firmly believe in supporting Students of Sacred Knowledge in their journeys and will never turn away a student due to finances in’shaa’Allah.
With regards to attendance:
The institute believes that high levels of attendance is essential for learning. This Attendance Policy sets out the principles and framework governing the institute’s processes and activities that enact the institute’s responsibilities of supporting students in attendance.
- It is compulsory for students to attend all institute-based activities during class hours
unless exemption is sought.
- The minimum satisfactory attendance for students is 85% of scheduled school
days during a school year.
- Students are expected to attend every class day of the term throughout the year.
However, it is recognised that in the rare occasion, students may be absent due to
compelling reasons.
- On return to class after an absence which was not anticipated, the student must
provide a medical certificate or a written explanation
- A student who needs to leave school before the official dismissal time must submit a
written note
- A student frequently arriving late (five occurrences in a term) will be referred to admin for intervention by the relevant form teacher.
Should a student be absent without any contact, disciplinary measures may be taken.
All teachers will have attendance sheets in which they will record any late arrivals. To accommodate irregularities in travel times, a 5-minute grace period from the start of the day’s classes will be observed (i.e., until 8:05 am).
·Timings may change throughout the year; students will be notified and consulted prior to such changes in’shaa’Allah.
Should a student observe punctuality, extra marks may be accorded to him at the end of the year.
Students should plan vacations/events during the breaks given in the year. If it is an emergency, contact admin.
An abundance of school/university work is not an excuse to be absent from class.
With regards to establishing a feedback system and encouraging reflection:
Students will have a private meeting with teachers every 5 months (unless there is a need to hold the meeting earlier) to go over their progress for that period insha’Allah. This will allow for students to receive individualized feedback catering to their specific circumstance and to reflect/set goals to achieve even greater heights in the future.
For new students, there will be a probationary period of 3 months from the start date. Students must show strong will and ethics throughout this period to be able to continue classes.
With regards to preparation for classes:
Mutala’ah is mandatory for every lesson in every class. If the majority of students come to class unprepared for the lesson, the class will not be conducted and will be allocated for mutala’ah. Should this persist, students without mutala’ah may be asked to complete their mutala’ah whilst the lesson takes place for others with mutala’ah.
Should individual students not have mutala’ah whilst most of the class do, then those students will be asked to complete their mutala’ah separately and rejoin the students once they have caught up.
With regards to the dress code:
Wearing clothes befitting a talibul-‘ilm is mandatory. This includes jubbahs, topi, shalwar etc. It is recommended that a student wear a white thobe with an imamah.
Should a student show up in inappropriate attire, they may be denied entry into the class.
Should a student constantly neglect wearing attire consistent with the sunnah, they may not participate in the class.
With regards to takrar (revision) classes:
Takrar classes are mandatory.
Consistent negligence of takrar classes will result in new lessons being suspended.
Students have the flexibility to choose the date and time of their takrar, which is to be in-person at the Al-Ansaar Islamic Center.
With regards to the Al-Ansaar Islamic Center:
Students will be required to clean the facility according to a schedule which can be found on the notice board along with details of cleaning duties.
Students may sleep overnight at the Al-Ansaar Islamic Center as well as make full use of the Al-Ansaar Library.
This program requires sincere dedication from the student as well as family. We hope students will strive to form an environment at home conducive to studying and implementing what they acquire in’shaa’Allah. These regulations are not meant to be overbearing or difficult, but rather a process of building discipline and respect for this noble path. It would not be pleasing for us to see our beloved students graduate whilst being weak in ‘ilm or discipline as a result of laxity and/or weak study habits. We truly hope for all students to graduate with immense knowledge as well as an attitude befitting a person of ‘ilm. Students should make constant du’a as the decisive factor as to whether one will be successful or not in any matter is the acceptance of Allah سبحانه وتعالى
