Community Food-Drive
This January, Al Ansaar will deliver food hampers with essential groceries to 60 local families in need Insha’Allah. Many families are silently struggling right now.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry.” Let’s not forget the simple act of checking in on our immediate neighbors while working to better our communities as a whole. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire” (Hadith, Tirmidhi). He also said that Allah offers relief on the Day of Judgement for those who give sadaqa: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be their charity” (Hadith, Tirmidhi).

Cost
The cost of each food hamper is $50.00.
Type
Donors have a choice of donating a complete food hamper or donate partially towards it.
Importance
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date in charity. (Sahih al-Bukhari)
Hamper will include:
Banana, rice, onions, potatoes, garlic, red split lentil, brown whole lentil, red kidney beans, vegetable oil, white sugar, pasta, apples, all purpose flour, and orange pekoe tea.
